Writing and Editing Consultant
I work with venture capital and private equity firms, corporations, educational institutions and arts organizations to address a variety of communications needs, including investment profiles, digital media content, promotional materials and press releases. A team-oriented professional with substantial experience, I also work in arts administration, developing communications strategies and specializing in event planning and execution, reading series coordination, and publicity. I'm a writing coach and consultant for both individual authors and institutions, offering a wide range of editorial services from idea development to line editing. If you're interested in working together, please send me a note via my contact form.
In addition to my memoir, The Kingdom of His Will, published by Arrowsmith Press, my short stories and reviews have appeared in TSR: The Southampton Review, Post Road, Baltimore Review, Painted Bride Quarterly, and elsewhere. I'm the Senior Associate Editor for the literary journal Consequence magazine, and I serve as an advisor and contributing editor for a few other magazines.
Originally from South Carolina (but with strong Canadian roots), I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Boston University, and an MFA in Literature and Creative Writing from Bennington College. I taught literature and creative writing for many years at the University of Massachusetts-Boston and Suffolk University, and I now teach creative writing at the noted independent literary center Grub Street in Boston.
