Writing and Editing Consultant
Welcome! I'm a writing coach and consultant for both individual authors and institutions, offering a wide range of editorial services from idea development to line editing. If you're interested in working together, please send me a note via my contact form.
In addition to my memoir, The Kingdom of His Will, published by Arrowsmith Press, my short stories and reviews have appeared in Cleaver, The Brooklyn Rail, Tenderly, The Rumpus, TSR: The Southampton Review, Post Road, Baltimore Review, Painted Bride Quarterly, and elsewhere. I edited a literary magazine for more than a decade, and I serve as an advisor and contributing editor for numerous magazines.
Originally from South Carolina (but with strong Canadian roots), I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Boston University, and an MFA in Literature and Creative Writing from Bennington College. I'm on the faculty of Southern New Hampshire University's MFA program and I teach creative writing at the noted independent literary center Grub Street in Boston.
